DETAILS:

A set of two stoneware vases by Lillemor Mannerheim for Uppsala-Ekeby GEFLE. Organic forms produced in the 1950s in matte black “Mangania” glaze. The smaller vase is known as "Lilla hjärtat" or "Little heart".


MARKINGS:

Both vases are stamped with Lillemor Mannerheim and Uppsala-Ekeby, Gefle stamps. The large vase is embossed M at the base.

Large Vase:

  • Width:  11 cm  /  4.3 in. 

Small Vase:

  • Height:  18,5 cm  /  7.2 in.
  • Width:  8,5 cm  /  3.3 in.

CONDITION:

Very good vintage condition. Insignificant signs of wear/use consistent with age.


ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Lillemor Mannerheim (1927 - 1994) was a Finnish-Swedish Countess and potter. She worked as an artist at Gefle, Rörstrand and Arabia porcelain factories. Mannerheim designed animal figures, tableware, vases and bowls and is represented in several museums in Europe.
