Midcentury stoneware vase by Carl-Harry Stålhane in grey-brown and blue hare’s fur matte glaze. A modern and minimal form in a rare model (SNK) produced in the 1950s by Stålhane for Rörstrand. A classic representation of Stålhane’s distinctive style.
Incised R for Rörstrand and three crowns with initials of artist CHS. Also incised with model number SNK.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Carl-Harry Stålhane (1920-1990) was a Swedish potter, designer, sculptor and painter. He is considered one of the most illustrious Swedish ceramic artists of the 20th century. Stålhane’s career started at Rörstrand from 1939 until 1973. After a long and successful career working at Rörstrand, Stålhane started his own studio Designhuset in 1973. He is represented in several museums around the world.
